We all sell differently in this modern age. Gone are the days of sales people spending days on the road, trying to sell their goods or services.
Sales people can now sell whatever goods or services they choose, from practically anywhere in the world; including from the comfort of their own home.
Of course, working from home has become ever popular and more common following the Covid-19 pandemic. Many people and businesses have either ditched their offices, or, allow for more hybrid working. It is said that in 2021, around 25.9% of workers in the UK had worked from home. Which means that many sales people will now have to move away from their busy sales floor, and to try to sell from their dining room table.
At Paragon Sales Solutions, we work hard with business owners and sales professionals, and we coach, mentor and support them in their sales – and we have pieced together this simple guide to help you make the most of your sales whilst working from home.
- Nutrition and Hydration
It can be so tempting to snack all day and to drink coffee, tea or energy drinks when working from home. After all, you could be sat right next to your fridge. Try to stick to normal eating habits and routines to maintain your blood sugar levels, and always keep a bottle or glass of water alongside you, and ensure you keep drinking!
If you do need to snack, try to opt for fruits, nuts, seeds and high protein foods; avoid the sugary temptations that are lying around!
2) Keep Moving
There are two main benefits to working from the office; the commute, and the need to move around.
At home, we can get into habits of waking up and dragging ourselves straight to our desks, and staying there for hours on end. However both of these can be very dangerous; both physically and mentally.
Make sure you emulate a commute with a simple walk in the morning, and a walk in the afternoon. And don’t forget to stretch those legs once in a while! The blood flow and change of scenery could support your creativity.
3) Check in With Positive People
Working from home can be lonely. Sure for some, it can be a blessing – especially when having to deep-dive into reports or setting up presentations. However, sales can be a highly emotive act, and sometimes you need the support of others around you when you are experiencing the highs of making a sales, but also experiencing the lows of losing a sale.
Create a support group in which you can chat to, and support one another.
4) Set Personal Boundaries
Take some time for you and set boundaries. Remove your email notifications from your phone, and don’t be tempted to work outside of your normal hours. Your mind, body and soul needs rest. Because without rest, how are you going to be performing at your best to support your clients?
With an array of talent, experience and expertise in all things sales, Paragon Sales Solutions are here to help you to succeed with your sales and business growth. If you feel you need support, be sure to contact us using the details above and below!
