Paragon Sales Solutions renews Countesthorpe Cricket Club backing | PRESS RELEASE
Leicestershire sales and marketing agency returns as a boundary board sponsor for a second season at the village club, founded in 1925.
COUNTESTHORPE, Leicestershire — 20 August 2026 — Paragon Sales Solutions, the Leicestershire-based sales and marketing agency, has renewed its sponsorship of Countesthorpe Cricket Club for a second consecutive season, continuing its support of the village club through boundary board advertising at the Bassett Avenue ground.
Founded in 1925 and based at Bassett Avenue for more than fifty years, Countesthorpe Cricket Club passed its centenary last year. The club fields three senior Saturday sides alongside a junior section running from kwik cricket through to under-17s, dedicated ladies’ and girls’ teams, and inclusive cricket sessions for players with learning disabilities. It holds ECB Focus Club status, ECB Clubmark accreditation and ECB Safe Hands certification, and has produced players who have gone on to represent England at under-19 level.
“A club like Countesthorpe isn’t just a cricket team. It’s a keystone in the village,” said Rob Spence, Managing Director of Paragon Sales Solutions and host of the Sales Circle podcast. “It’s one of the few places where a nine-year-old picking up a bat for the first time and someone who’s been coming down for forty years end up in the same room. That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because volunteers put the hours in, year after year, and because local businesses back them. We’re a local business, so we back them.”
Why local businesses matter to grassroots cricket
Village cricket clubs depend heavily on sponsorship from nearby businesses to maintain grounds and facilities, fund coaching qualifications and keep junior subscriptions affordable. Countesthorpe’s own facilities have been built up over decades, including a clubhouse rebuilt in 1991 with lottery funding and a two-bay outdoor net facility added in 2007.
Paragon joins a group of local sponsors already supporting the club across its ground boards, playing kit and clubhouse.
Spence added: “The facilities down there are genuinely good, and the club has a lot of history behind it. What I’d like to see is more people in the village actually using it; going down for a game, taking the kids to a junior session, hiring the clubhouse. Sponsorship helps, but a club stays alive because people turn up.”
Countesthorpe Cricket Club welcomes new senior and junior players, volunteers and sponsors. Details are available at countesthorpecricketclub.co.uk.
